Design By Command


PURPOSE

Design By Command was designed to meet the academic needs of non-verbal and non-mobile students. The program allows high school students to design video games that focused in all academic areas of learning to accommodate the needs of the non-verbal and non-mobile students, while making learning fun and exciting. 

OUTCOMES

The long-term goal is to integrate these designs into the classroom to enable students to study, complete school work, and operate in a virtual world. Our goal is to encourage feelings of achievement, success, inclusion, understanding, and self confidence in every student that uses this program, while offering an alternative form of instruction and equity in the classroom. These educational video games will be used in multidisciplinary way - an English teacher and an Art teacher would collaborate in the development of lesson plans and video game development that accomodate the learning styles of all students.
