SCHOOL GOALS

All learners will exercise their agency by making choices about what they learn and how they learn.

  • Pilot Teachers will implement 3 prototype cycles centered around providing students choice in different components of the day.

All learners will receive regular feedback to help guide them to make the best decisions with their academics and agency.

  • Students in piloting classrooms can articulate their individualized goals and can articulate specific strategies to help them reach those goals.
  • Whole Staff will provide individualized feedback to students twice a week in literacy and math.

HISTORY & CULTURE

Anna Louise Johnson Elementary school was established in 1952. Johnson elementary is named in memory of Anna Louise Johnson. She was the first public school kindergarten teacher in Colorado, and supervisor in the department of health education of the Denver public schools from 1908 to 1936. Johnson elementary school was designed by Architect J. Roger Music and Charles Gordon Lee.
